Nervous system is the master system that controls everything in the human body.
The nervous system handles everything from receiving information from the outside environment to generating an appropriate response. But it is the three essences Prana, Tejas, and Ojas that actually drive the optimal and efficient functioning of the nervous system.
Prana is the most important of these three. Prana is in charge of nerve impulse coordination, also known as Vata forces. When the Vata forces are not functioning optimally, it can lead to hypersensitivity and other nervous system disorders. Saraswatharishta from Kerala Ayurveda comes in handy here.
This Ayurvedic nerve tonic is a traditional concoction rich in ingredients that are known to aid in the treatment of a variety of neurological and psychological issues.

Finally, Ojas is an essence that aids the body’s endurance and stability. It revitalises the nerve channels and keeps them running smoothly. When Ojas levels fall below optimal, it can cause deficiencies such as nervous exhaustion and breakdowns.
Ayurveda recommends a few herbs: Ashwagandha, Calamus (Vacha), Brahmi, and Bibhitaki. Saraswatharishta employs all of the aforementioned herbs, as well as a number of others in a combination, reaffirming it as possibly the most effective Ayurvedic nerve tonic.
